Terms of Use
These Terms of Use govern your use of the Teleocean website at teleocean.com and the Crew Portal service. By accessing our website or services, you agree to these terms.
1. Use of Services
Teleocean's website and Crew Portal are provided for legitimate maritime communications purposes only. You agree to use our services in compliance with all applicable laws, including maritime regulations and the laws of your flag state.
2. Crew Portal
The Crew Portal is intended for individual seafarers to manage personal data bundles on vessels equipped with Teleocean/JPRouter systems. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account.
3. Satellite Service Terms
Maritime satellite services provided through Teleocean are subject to the terms and conditions of the respective network operators (SpaceX/Inmarsat, Eutelsat OneWeb). In the event of any conflict, the network operator's terms shall prevail with respect to that service.
4. GMDSS and Safety Communications
GMDSS distress communications must not be tested or transmitted except in genuine emergency situations or during authorized drills. Misuse of distress frequencies is a criminal offense under international maritime law.
5. Limitation of Liability
Teleocean shall not be liable for any interruption to satellite services caused by technical factors outside our control, including but not limited to satellite network outages, atmospheric conditions, or equipment failure at sea. For SOLAS vessels, we strongly recommend maintaining Inmarsat GMDSS service as a primary safety communications layer.
6. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
